A launch at a hot new Holywood club, press photography by Terry Richardson, label design by a socialite, bohemian, jet-setting graffiti artist turned nightlife entrepreneur…… it can only be the launch of a new drink from the world’s premier vodka brand, Belvedere. Charles Gibb, president of Millennium, the vodka and rum division of Moet Hennessy, claims to have created ‘a new style of vodka’. Produced using a similar methodology to that of gin and not just artificially flavored vodka, Belvedere IX has nine ingredients, ginseng, guarana, acai, ginger, sweet almond, jasmine, eucalyptus, three cinnamon, and black cherry. The ingredients are individually distilled in micro-batches before being blended with 50% ABV (100 proof) Belvedere Vodka and artesian water. Graffiti artist André Saraiva has designed a ‘tagged’ glossy black Belvedere bottle with electric pink graffiti to complete the contemporary luxury of this premium new vodka which is launched today in LA and followed by similarly high profile launches throughout the rest of the world during 2009.

TOSHIBA TG01, IT LOOKS REALLY COOL, I THINK THIS IS THE ONLY ONE SO FAR WHICH CAN COMPETE WITH IPHONE

Toshiba has just announced their latest smartphone, the TG01(see the pic, Apple don't like this news). It features only a 9.9mm thick and use Windows Mobile 6.1 and Toshiba's own 3D user interface(see the video). It includes a 4.1-inch WVGA(800 x 480 pixels), 3.2 megapixel camera, Bluetooth, GSM, 3G HSPA, WiFi, GPS and A-GPS. Powered by a 1GHz mobile CPU, 512 MB internal storage and a microSDHC slot with support for up to 32GB, support for DivX video. About the flash, the Internet Explorer Mobile 6 with full support for Flash. TG01 will be available in worldwide this summer. The color is same as the iPhone, black and white.

A bit further uptown in the heart of Tribeca, Five Franklin Place is destined be the epitome of luxury residences. The 20-storey building will contain 55 one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom units that will be set up as duplex lofts on the lower floors; single-level city residents above; plus three triplex penthouses each with a rooftop terrace and serviced by private internal elevators. The building itself, designed by Dutch architect Ben van Berkell of UNStudio, will be wrapped in a series of horizontal black metallic bands – each of which ungulates as it curves around and hugs the frame of the structure. The façade is apparently a direct tribute to the original 19th century built form of cast iron that shaped lower Manhattan – and the metallic surface will reflect light while highlighting the magnificence of the neighboring buildings.

His speakers, which have been designed by mobile technology experts Parrot, are deliciously thin, light and incredibly stylish but also pack a punch thanks to their downward-firing woofer which apparently bounces sound from your walls, meaning you can place them pretty much anywhere within the room and achieve a kind of audio-nirvana, unless of course your listening to Coldplay that is. Bluetooth and WiFi enabled, the speakers are capable of streaming music from computers and mobile phones meaning that it’s not just your iPhone or iPod that can act as the audio source.
