Former Dior footwear creative director, Pierre Hardy first launched his high top collection back in 2006. Three years later, and you can still count on him to bring something new to the table. This season, Hardy experiments with new, luxurious materials, while keeping the same silhouette that put him on the high top map in the beginning. The model pictured above is made up of suede with patent lining.

Barcelona is the latest location for ME Hotels & Resorts to roll out another of their slick, stylish hotels that fuse design, music, cuisine and art to create truly unique accommodation experiences. Black Comme des Garçons — the Japanese designer’s new temporary “guerrilla” brand conceived as an antidote to the recession — has landed the iconoclastic designer’s fashions on the ground floor of two Tokyo department stores, a first for the company.
Monolithic, square black fixtures — where iconic styles such as sarouel pants and cutaway jackets hang — have been front and center at Mitsukoshi in Ginza and Parco in Shibuya since last week. Read more here...

Cool Living Room Ideas from Acerbis - an expanding TV screen

Really cool idea from Acerbis that is suitable for either a living room or an entertainment room ... having a TV wall unit with a projection screen concealed inside the unit, that is automatically expandable and self-wrapping. Now you can have a small screen for games and news and the big screen for movies and sports, on the same wall, in the same living room. Plus the minimalist wall unit itself is a great addition to your modern living space, while the screen is suitable for the most commons projectors on the market. Named 'New Concepts Composition', this new collection from Milan-based furniture company Acerbis combines great looks with technology for the ultimate in at-home entertainment. Integrated lighting systems softly illuminate the room while giving it a clean and clutter-free look. This cool Italian line is all about accommodating “free and different living style ideas”, and the modular composition of the collection does just that. A variety of separate pieces including sideboards, wall shelves, upright furniture, shelving units and mirrors is available in matching styles, ideal for the contemporary, minimal living room, media room or den. For more details and to check out the full collection, visit Acerbis.

Michael Arrington's CrunchPad design is going to get real(the image is the near-final industrial design). CrunchPad Prototype is a browser device, it has a Linux based system and a Webkit based browser inside. It will boot directly into the browser. It features a screen now flush with the case and overall thickness to about 18 mm, Michael say it will be at a special press and user event in July in Silicon Valley. Do you like it?
