‘Hollywood through the lens – celebrating 100 years of Hollywood’ is an exhibition currently running at the Getty Images Gallery in London to celebrate a century of Hollywood.

It documents the evolution of Hollywood from the 1920s and features pretty much every iconic and influential star you can think of, from the early days of the silver screen through to today’s box office heavyweights. A mixture of familiar publicity shots, red carpet events as well as more obscure and candid personal portraits of Paul Newman, Marilyn Monroe, Fred Astaire, Michael Caine and many others, the exhibition gives a fascinating insight into show business and how the perception of glamour and style has changed over the years, not only in the clothing styles and hair cuts, but in the way they are photographed and presented to the public too.
