VERSACE TO CREATE WORLD'S FIRST REFRIGERATED BEACH IN DUBAI

Fashion house, Versace, is to build the world's first refrigerated beach. the waterfront space will act as a way of keeping beach strollers cool during the hot days of summer, which can average 40 to 50°C. Located next to the new palazzo versace hotel, the refrigerated system will operate using heat-absorbing pipes located under the sand. these pipes will contain coolant to absorb heat from the beach's surface, and will be accompanied by giant wind blowers. due to open in 2010, the project is receiving much criticism for the carbon footprint it will leave on the environment, something which is an issue with many of the projects that are being erected in Dubai.

VISA BLACK CARD

VISA is turning on the heat in the ever aggressive credit card scene. Their latest offering is the $495 VISA Black Card, which looks to compete against the super cards offered by other various outlets such as the  invite only “Centurion Card.” Like the latter, the VISA Black card offers 24hour full service concierge level perks, priority access at airports, hotels and more. Top it off with a special “carbon graphite” black card, and you are already well beyond the normal VISA user. (via aquire)

BEFORE WE SAY GOODBYE TO 2008..

Sometimes no need of words to explain...

2008 was not a very good year for the World. I hope 'what ever happened in 2008 stays in 2008'. Ofcourse except a couple of good things...

Israeli aircraft pounded Gaza for a second day on Sunday, increasing the death toll to nearly 300. The continued strikes, which Israel said were in retaliation for sustained rocket fire from Gaza into its territory, unleashed a furious reaction across the Arab world, raising fears of greater instability in the region. Israel made a strong push to justify the attacks, saying it was forced into military action to defend its citizens. At the same time, the supreme religious leader of Iran and the leader of Hezbollah expressed strong support for Hamas. Hamas said Israel bombed a government ministry compound and the Islamic University in Gaza, a stronghold of Hamas, late Sunday night. The Hamas-owned television station Al Aqsa was also struck, as was a mosque that the Israeli military said was being used as a terrorist base.
According to me, none of these statements explain the reason why innocent people die. What I believe as Jimi Hendriks said; ' When the power of love overcomes the love of power, there will be peace in the World.' But when??
